The Taunton Police Department consists of three separate administrative divisions, each commanded by a Captain.
The Field Services Division, the department’s largest Division, is the backbone of the department and is responsible for responding to calls for service, dispatch operations and general law enforcement. The Field Services Division consists of Patrol, K-9, Traffic, Dispatch, School Resource Officers and Detail Hiring. It is commanded by Captain Honorato Santos. The Administrative Division is responsible for internal operations of the police department. It includes Domestic Violence, Meters, Training, Court Prosecution, licensing and the clerical staff. The Street Crimes Unit is outside the normal chain of command and reports directly to the Chief of Police. Its primary mission is addressing drug, gang and firearms related offenses.
