WHAT:
Platinum City Gaming owner Rashaud Garner will be hosting the event through his Brockton-based non-profit organization Step into Your Potential Now (SiypNow).
Children from the Old Colony YMCA will be playing with and competing against 17 officers from the Taunton Police Department.
Each of the kids will be paired up with a police officer and will play a variety of games against the officers or as a team against other teams.
“A lot of our officers are into gaming and are looking forward to the opportunity to play with some local kids,” Chief Walsh said. “Our guys can get pretty competitive when it comes to gaming. There will certainly be some bragging rights on the line. But more importantly, this is a great way for our officers to be out in the community having positive interactions and fun with local children. Our thanks goes out to Platinum City Gaming for hosting this awesome event.”
The event is free to the kids that will be participating and Platinum City Gaming will be providing them a pizza lunch. Spectators are also welcome to come watch the event.
